Learned helplessness
Gut feeling has been given a bad rap in the modern day.
Logic is the new gut feeling in the sense that it has replaced it as a tool of survival. In the modern day, logic trumps gut feeling because gut feeling is not empirical. The name implies it, it's intrinsically illogical.
But what do you do if one day while walking along in the city you turn into the wrong side street? If you are presented with shady characters that look at you oddly and size you up?
Do you use logic then and do you rationally explain to these shady characters that you are lost?
Or do you use that same gut feeling and recognize that you must run in that very moment because you risk incredible harm?
There is no hidden meaning behind this message, simply put:
What would you do when presented with the need to use your instincts? Do you shut those instincts down in order to use reason and logic?
Or do you use what you have had all along, something that comes built into us, that has recently been scrubbed away by the way that we were domesticated?
