Recognize futility
I was informed by an online friend about a recent 'scandal' on bear. A post about the meta blogging problem. But although I agree with the writer of said post. You gotta realize. Bear is probably a good business. Produce produce produce....Keeps people subscribing and paying. Nobody will ever admit they like the attention. But everyone does. We are community oriented beings. And that's fine and normal. (This is a response post but a very indirect one. I don't feel like looking up the original post. I'm kind of low energy today.)
And there's nothing wrong with that. But it does get annoying. So...are there alternatives?
You could go analogue. If your focus is writing only. Funny how we call it analogue. Since it pertains to old devices and yet we are not using an electronic device to write on paper...but anyway.
Before I started my shenanigans on bear I was scribbling frantically in messy writing journals all of my thoughts and poems. I was a menace. The paper shook when it saw me coming. My barely legible writing was frightening. I would lose a journal and start another one. Bear is a good alternative because I get to keep all of my thoughts in one place.
Now that's why you guys have to deal with my writing on bear. I couldn't stand it anymore. I wanted it to be NEAT. Because my mind is MESSY.
I saw recently an advertisement for a mini digital typewriter. I thought that was amazing. It's such a simple concept but it does the intended job. You feel like writing ? Take the device out and start. Too bad they're like $400!! No thanks. Who has that kind of cash? I've been DIYing things around the house since I just purchased a new home... $400 on a hobby is way too much. And why am I obsessed with kindles and nooks? I have a single kindle. I haven't used it in months. I want to jailbreak it but I get lazy..
But I'm itching everytime I see one at Barnes and Nobles. I want to get another one!!! Why?? It's the aesthetic I bet. I have no NEED for two kindles. Or a nook and a Kindle. And yet I see people collect them.
Anyway I went off track here on my rant. Recognize the futility in fighting the system that provides you your little house.
I realized it when I noticed the amount of likes the same 10 people got. And I quietly decided to stop looking at the discover popular feed because of it. I'll look from time to time. But it's not really that interesting compared to the recents.
