the year 2019
2019...It was nice in its own way. It was before COVID. I can't believe that was over 7 years ago. I was so naive back then.
I had just started college (in person) and I was excited. I had just moved in with my then boyfriend now husband after dating for only a year. We got lots of pushback from that. I did get a lot of advice from others, telling me to dump him (wasn't gonna happen). We should have gotten married then. But we didn't and it would happen later. Quietly.p
We moved into a one room apartment on the third floor with a little balcony. It was our little slice of home. We would buy jarritos and jupiña to enjoy on those summer nights on the balcony. I missed my parents so bad I would call them everyday. But it was nice going out. There were big changes. And life felt so... Freeing yet restrained. I can't describe it.

I had so much fun thrifting and looking for our furniture in stores and online too. But we had zero money. I think I moved in with about $850 in my bank account. I used most of it to get some semblance of furniture. We had absolutely nada. We were completely broke, and my dad lended me his credit card that had a $300 limit on it for groceries. We got denied food stamps two times because we were broke college students and apparently being full time students meant nothing... We also needed a job to qualify. But I didn't really want a job. I wanted to enjoy my time with my bf whenever I could.

We had Diego. We still have Diego. He's deaf now. And still as much of an asshole ( I lovingly say this) as he was when we had him in the apartments. We took him with us when we first moved to the apartments and let me tell you. He hated it. We took him back to my parents soon after.

I always loved animals and I would feel lonely in the apartment when my BF would leave for school. At first we had a pet mouse named Spritz. Which then became five female mice after he passed on... With the only one surviving being Butters.
One time they got out of their homemade cage (lol). But they were polite enough to go back to it before dawn broke. We fixed the cage shortly after that.

I wanted a dog...so we got our first together. And she was our main focus and basically our baby (blugh) before our actual first baby came along two years later.
I loved training her. It was kind of like a hobby.

Anyway, this post was meant for the nostalgia trip. All this to say... My baby face is gone now. My husband's baby face is gone now. Time flies sooo fast. I feel like life is so different now. As if I've gotten used to living a way that life never was before. Like this is just how it is now.
And I don't mean because I have kids now. I mean like it's like the whole vibe is different..forgive the modern lingo.
