typewriter
I got to go to the thrift store with my husband this past weekend. He managed to find an old typewriter from the 60s in its travel case... It's an electric one. And it seems like it only needs a new ribbon to fix up and some cleaning of course. It used to be blue.. but it's yellowed so much you would not be able to tell since it looks mostly green. Well what's blue + yellow? Green of course.
Anyway, my husband knows that I always wanted a typewriter...I just never found a good one..and I could never justify the cost of a repaired one so I would pass by them in the store but never buy one.
This one seemed promising for the price range. So we bought it. For $35. Not bad...
The ribbon for this brand is common and only costs about a dollar to replace so we went ahead and bought the typewriter and my husband searched online for the ribbon when we got home.
Well... That's all said and done and it works perfectly now.
..Except I never knew or realized typewriters were so loud... I can hear it across the house.
Still, it's a great purchase. I love writing. I can't wait to type my little heart out on this thing.
Pictures to come ... It still needs to be cleaned up and possibly hopefully de yellowed back to blue or some semblance of its original color.
