We're living in a Dark Age

We've been taught from a young age to ignore what is right in front of us. To remove the wonder of what life truly is and the mystery and meaning behind it.

In the medieval ages, life was simple and hard. It was short and brutal, but there was something that they had that we modern domesticated people lost long ago.

When we moved inside, and when we closed our doors to nature, we lost it entirely.

We lost the wonder of life, because the material entirely consumed us. The constant noise of electricity whirling through appliances created a comfortable distraction.

Music, podcasts, and videos interrupt our true thoughts daily, and when it all turns off: we sit, uncomfortable from the abrupt silence.

That silence is what we should sit in. That silence, draws us closer to the immaterial. To God, and to what our souls truly feel. What many people are lacking today, is a flushed out soul.

And so we walk among people who seem like they're on autopilot. They are, because many people have not tried reconciling with their own self. And we can tell, because our daily inward struggle seems odd to them. We are cast out as the 'other' because the shadow puppet-show is much more important to many than any true, organic meaning may be.

Why are we told from a young age, the rational, empirical meaning behind everything and not the spiritual one? Does anyone wonder why we are stripped of wonder from such an early age? Why are phones, tablets, TV's given to children a couple of months after birth? What is that doing to their souls?

What irreparable damage has been done to our souls?

Why are we so obsessed with constant noise? We can't go one second off of our phones, one minute without headphones. One minute without looking to a screen,

It's as if we don't want to listen out for God, when he is so clearly shouting at us from the silence. From the silence that we are so obviously avoiding.

Our souls, wither away inside of us, because our flesh has completely consumed us. Our flesh took over long ago, and now, everything is empirical, rational, material. It's about feeling, but never about thoughts.

The enlightenment period was when the Medieval times were designated the "Dark Ages", but we are beyond that now. We are in a true Dark age, because many of us have nothing going on inside of us. Many of us are empty, lost, confused. We attach to things we think have meaning, but nothing does. Nothing except God.

Our souls stay, longing for some meaning, and when we can't find it in life itself, in nature, in God, we look elsewhere. Anywhere, but never within.

We lost the plot. We lost it long ago.
